Hi and welcome to my web site,

I foresee this site as a place where I can share what drumming means to me and find out what drumming means to you. To explore, learn and grow in the mastering of rhythm through body and sound.

On this site you will find my bio, what I'm playing, and pictures of me with other well-known and not so well known faces. I will keep you updated in my drumming life while sharing the lessons I've learned over the years. Also, I hope to provide links to cool and interesting drum related sites and facts. Lastly, I'd like to hear from those of you that have visited so we may create a community of drumming and drumming knowledge.

Yours,

Mark "BoneS" Pryor

Hi All,

Well I seem to be spending a lot of time at "The Coach House" and this past Friday night was no exception!

There was a good size crowed on hand to see Sue Paine. Grenwich Meantime, and The Kelly Bowlin Band. Sue Paine stared out the evening with her crystal voice and talented song writing. Although only accompanied by another guitar and bass the music full and melodic. Sue was well received by all those there as she wove a tapestry of meaningful lyrics throughout her songs. However, being the drummer/percussionist that I am I couldn't help hearing some needed back beat or at least a shaker or well placed triangle hear and there ;-). Sue is working on a soon to be released CD that is sure to be a winner.

Next came Grenwich Meantime. What can I say? This is a strong band and they just plain kick-ass. Note to fellow drummers: keep an eye out for Nick Hoffman. Grenwich Meantime is set to open for "The Gin Blossoms" on June 21 at the Galaxy Theater so get your tickets now while you still can.

Closing out the night was "The Kelly Bowlin Band" and the audience summed up the bands' performance, "you guys rock"! They played most of the songs off "Williamsburg" and I was able to sit in on "Falling" one of my favorite songs on the CD. Kelly has a heart as big as the moon and asked me to come up for their last number of the night which was a smoking rendition of the rolling stones' "Sympathy for the Devil". The Kelly Bowlin Band is set to open back at the Coach House for the "Spin Doctors" on May 7. That is going to be on killer concert night!

My thanks to Kelly, Pat, Jim, Chris, and Russell for letting me sit in. I had a great time.

'Till next time,

Hi Everyone,

WOW, What a night at the Coach House!
It was an intimate crowd of approximately 230 patrons and starting out the evening was the Dave Silver Band playing some great county rock originals. Then Close Enough took over playing a carefully chosen lineup of cover tunes that ranged from "Play that Funky Music" and "Pick up the Pieces" to "Ooh Baby, Baby" and "Two Tickets to Paradise". The band was sounding hot and the crowd showed an enthusiastic appreciation with cheers and applause. Orleans closed the night and they were fabulous. Man, they are really one hell of a band playing hit songs that cover some thirty years. I was able to meet Charlie Morgan as he was playing drums with Orleans that night. Charlie is such a relaxed and funny person that it was easy to be around him. His playing is just top drawer. He plays with such ease and creativity mixed with impeccable time keeping that it is plain to see why he is counted amount the top drummers of the world (see my Gallery page for more on Charlie Morgan).

My thanks to all that came out to support The Close Enough Band. For those that couldn't make it out sorry you missed a great show.

Yours,

Hi All!

A few days ago I was able to see Akira Jimbo give a drum clinic. Yamaha drums, Remo, Vic Firth, and Zildjian sponsored the clinic. It was held at West Coast Drum Center located here in South Orange County. It was one of the most exciting clinics I have attended in a long time. Check out the write up and photos from my Special Features page.

Don't forget about Orange County's premier garage band " The Close Enough Band " opening at the Coach House for Orleans on April 2. So, get your tickets NOW from the Close Enough Band or Ticket Master and don't miss the fun! We would love to see you there, it's going to be a great time.

Well that’s it for the moment.

Feb 13th:

I have posted a few more pictures (golden oldies) so please have a look. I'll scan even more as time permits.

Also, I have added a new drum lesson. A very cool beat that Chuck Silverman tuned me on too called the "Samba De Angola". Give it a go ~ I'm sure you'll groove with it.

Yours,

"BoneS"

Nov 8th: I have posted a few pictures so please have a look. I still need to scan many more and will do so as time permits.

Yours,

Nov 8th: I have added a tribute page to Gus Dudgeon. Gus was a dear and unassuming man full of talent as a music producer. He was also a friend and fellow Summerhill School alumnus. I was able to hang with Gus in July of 1999 at a conference being held at Summerhill. It was great fun to share stories of our days at the school.

We shall miss him greatly.

Nov 3rd: Well my site is up and running... well some of it anyway.

So this is kind of like my birthday!.... Put another candle on my birthday cake, my birthday cake....

I hope you find some things of interest and some of usefulness.

Oct 15th: I started work on my web site after purchasing a domain name and finding a host. For those of you interest in or needing a domain host check into iPowerWeb . They are fast and very helpful.
Sep 22nd: Started the conceptual brainstorming of a possible web site to promote drumming and myself. Ideas :
  •  Bio
  •  What I'm playing
  •  Photos
  •  etc..etc.

We’ll see how it goes!

Quote of the week

"My mother said to me, “If you become a soldier, you’ll be a general, if you become a monk you’ll end up as the pope.” Instead, I became a painter and wound up as Picasso. "
